Flow Control Valve

A flow control valve is used to regulate the flow or pressure of fluids such as gas and liquids. It normally functions in response to signals that are generated from independent devices such as flow meters or temperature gauges and is fitted with an actuator. The actuator on a flow control valve is used to move the valve to a desired position using an external power source after it receives a signal. However, an automatic flow control valve does not require an external power source and instead depends on the fluid pressure to open and close the valve.

There are many types of valves that can be used as a flow control valve such as pneumatically activated globe valves, quarter-turn ball and butterfly valves as well as needle valves. A flow control valve with a hydraulic actuator is also referred to as an automatic control valve and responds to changes in pressure or flow to open or close the valve. Examples of automatic control valves are the pressure reducing valve, the flow control valve, the back-pressure sustaining valve, the altitude valve and the relief valve. An important use of the flow control valve is in the oil industry where it is used to control blocking or stopping of flow, pressure of flow media and flow quantity. Other valves that are used in this industry apart from the flow control valve include sequence valve, master control valve, reducing valve, check valve and others. This particular flow control valve is a hydraulic valve as it carries a hydraulic actuator.

A flow control valve is used in a number of industries such as for irrigation in agriculture or in water treatment facilities. Important specifications to consider when buying a flow control valve are its valve size, pressure rating, ports, media temperature, flow coefficient and connection type among others. If you have a problem with choosing the right flow control valve to use in your system then you can visit www.hanbayinc.com or contact Hanbay at secureinfo@hanbayinc.com for technical assistance on how to select the correct valves. It is always important to use the correct valve for the job to get the best and long lasting output from it. So if you are interested in modifying the flow of fluids, a flow control valve is suited for the job.

At Hanbay you will be advised on selecting a flow control valve where all the parts are compatible with fluid pressure, temperature, corrosion resistance, deposition on seals and much more. You will be able to find a flow control valve that is suitable to your needs and your budget. In addition to that you can have Hanbay custom make a miniature electric actuator for your valves; after all that is its specialty. Hanbay began in 1986 in Montreal, QC, Canada and has since become a leading manufacturer of miniature electric valve actuators made from the finest material resources and state-of-the-art technology and methods. Hanbay shows you how to dimension your valves whether it is a flow control valve for gas or liquid and offers turnkey solutions for process automation and control of all kinds.
